Ontario staffing

Senior care staffing across Ontario

Ontario homes are staffed against the direct-care hours target, and a single unfilled PSW line shows up in the next inspection. We hold a bench of screened PSWs, RPNs, dietary and housekeeping staff across the province so a call before 06:00 is normally covered for the day shift.

Credentials we verify

What every Personal Support Worker (PSW) must show us

  • PSW certificate from a NACC, Ministry-approved or community college program
  • CNO registration in good standing for RN and RPN placements
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check within the last six months
  • Two-step TB screening plus influenza and COVID-19 records per home policy
  • Food Handler Certification for cooks and dietary aides
  • Optional listing on the PSW Registry of Ontario

Regulatory context

The rules we staff against

  • Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and O. Reg. 246/22
  • Retirement Homes Act, 2010 for RHRA-licensed residences
  • PHIPA confidentiality acknowledgement signed by every worker
  • WSIB coverage carried by Personnel On Demand, not by your home

Service area

Where we dispatch in Ontario

Outside these areas we still take the call — travel-rate coverage is arranged case by case.
